XML Sitemaps Or HTML Sitemaps Are Better For Google

Hello webmasters & Bloggers,

Today we are discussing about Sitemaps. We are all using webmaster tools, sitemaps for better SERP’s in search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo Search.

Many people have one question is mind that should they prefer XML sitemap or HTML sitemap.

Basically, both sitemaps are having some of their own advantages, but I would suggest all beginners to use HTML sitemaps.

XML sitemaps helps to discover new pages on the already listed web pages from the embedded link. But there is no guarantee that all the links will be crawled through XML sitemaps.

Again, if we look at HTML sitemaps, they are most simple sitemaps having all the links listed line by line on a web page & that’s it. No complication is there & you can get it done within very small time.

So for faster listing & easy editing HTML sitemaps are best.

Considering XML sitemaps again, they look complicated with their formatting, & not so easy to understand for beginer webmasters or bloggers. But their detailing about a page are good & as I already told they are helping to discover new pages in links.

So, answer relies in your knowledge about coding a web page. Any single sitemap can do your job, but if you have them both in your site, its like cherry on the cake.

So enjoy your google experiments.

  1. Why not both? I create an HTML sitemap that’s human-readable, and then include that URL in the XML sitemap which I submit to Google.
