Gmail Blog Introduces Display Image Feature For Your Trusted Contacts

<

Just got the update from Gmail blog telling another feature after the tasks feature on your favorite Gmail service which allows to display images directly in mail.

Show Images in Mailbox ?

Gmail, by default used to hide your images for security purposes. Then you have to click every time to ‘Display images below’ or ‘Always display images from this sender’. And from now on you can see all the images by default.

No Image Display in Your Gmail ?

Well, Gmail has been automatically configured to display images only for those contacts who you already allowed as trusted contact or have more than 2 messages. (Note : Gmail can vary this frequency of ‘2′ in future currently they are testing what security issues they come across. So be ready for more)

What are benefits?

Most of mailing services like Live & yahoo displays images as per users convenience. This Gmail’s feature introduced by Gmail blog last day allows us to see our images directly. Mostly we get images from relatives & friends, so we used to turn of all images every time. The time will not be consumed now, if you use Gmail. So be ready for advanced mailing experience, at least with Gmail.

Which were the security issues?

Being from the field of ‘Security’, This question will be favorite of mine to answer. There was a single issue named ‘Phishing’, which was attracting victims with the help of images in mails. Because similar images that our banks uses, were created by these phishers, which used to disguise the victims with phishing attacks. SO such images were terminated for direct display. So this will reduce now, as we’ll not gonna add such stupid intruders in our regular contacts lists & we are screwing their plan up. Intelligent, isn’t it?

So that’s all I have for you today, hope you’ll enjoy this new feature from Gmail.
